S13 Episode 9

Homes for Heroes

A special episode as Phil and Kirstie helping three sets of first-time buyers who have all served their country in the British armed forces. Army captain Nick Beighton and his partner army captain Leki Stones are committed to finding the perfect family home that has four bedrooms, plenty of character, and a garden. While their demands may seem ordinary, their needs certainly aren't. Nick lost both of his legs after an IED attack in Afghanistan and is still not yet fully mobile. Newlyweds dental technician Elisa and regimental gunner Jason Thomas both serve in the RAF, and have undertaken front-line tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. They desperately want to find a perfect place to call their own and it has to be in the country, with great views, and with enough room for children in the future. Major Rick Fletcher and his wife Gail have spent an incredible 25 years on the move in army accommodation. With Rick's new posting, they are finally able to look for a home that they can call their own. But with two rapidly growing kids, and having been used to living in spacious army houses, will the reality of their finances match up to their dreams?
