The Garvey's stay with Mel and Madge for Christmas. Noreen finds a travelling companion. Donald and Jacqueline check in with a group of close personal friends.

With Troy at home looking after his ill father, Gavin has a new holiday companion in the form of his salon employee Kenneth. The Garveys arrive to stay with Madge at her villa, only to find that it has been sold to Cilla Black - and Madge is nowhere to be found. Mateo is introduced to his new colleague Les/Lesley, who has a few surprises up his/her sleeve.

Noreen checks in at The Solana with her irritable daughter Pauline. Meanwhile, Sam and Natalie hit a nightclub with Liam and mayhem ensues. Les/Lesley is settling in fine at the pool bar, but is getting on Mateo's nerves.

It is all go at the Solana as Mateo prepares for his first water aerobics class, but when Donald takes a funny turn in the pool, Mateo finds himself in a spot of bother and has to ask Les/Lesley for help. The Garveys get a shock when they are approached by a gangster who tells them that they have inherited Mel Harvey's debt, and they attempt a very risky bet to pay off what they owe. Noreen's problems with Pauline continue.

A freak storm batters Benidorm and Les/Lesley has to arrange some bingo entertainment with rather unusual prizes. Reformed alcoholic Pauline discovers that her flight has been cancelled and decides that a drink might help ease her frustration. When a handsome stranger from Janice's past arrives in Solana, she fails to notice that Michael is having his first taste of holiday romance.

The sun is shining in Benidorm again and although Pauline is more or less permanently drunk, everyone is looking forward to Eighties Night with special guests Bananarama. Madge learns that there is the chance of a lease on a bar coming up - but will she be brave enough to stay on in Spain without Mel? Elsewhere, Kenneth takes Gavin on a trip to cheer him up, but the day does not prove to be as relaxing as promised.

Les/Lesley discovers some of Donald's clothes on the nudist beach - and it seems that Donald has left Jacqueline a note. The Garveys are gearing up for the opening of Madge's new bar, but when Lucky Kev arrives with some free tickets for a theme park, Mick packs the women and children off for the day. Elsewhere, Pauline turns to the bottle as she awaits news on her divorce.
