Agatha Christie's Poirot

Hercule Poirot's retirement is interrupted when one of his neighbours in the picturesque village of Kings Abbott is found murdered in his study. Teaming up again with Chief Inspector Japp, Poirot scrutinises everyone in the household of wealthy industrialist Roger Ackroyd - from his grasping sister-in-law to his personal secretary.

The dapper detective investigates the death of Lord Edgware, husband of a famous actress who was seeking a divorce. The actress and the lord's butler, who disappears with a large sum of money, are only two of the suspects uncovered by Poirot, all with motives but seemingly watertight alibis.
