Their first 24 hours lands the time travellers in the filth and grime of the city dump: the dustyard; here, they sift through mountains of dirt, rotting veg and old bones; there's no escape, no compromise, and no going home.

With no break since leaving the filth of the dustyard, Alistair McGowan, Ann Widdecombe, Miquita Oliver, Zoe Lucker, Tyger Drew Honey and Colin Jackson are now up against the clock in the age before the dawn of the railways.

The time travellers experience the gruelling inequality of the factories that were the power houses of the industrial revolution; amidst the bottle kilns of the Staffordshire potteries, it's not just the machinery that's revolutionary.

The six celebrities, now destitute and penniless in the workhouse, face their final 24 hours in the relentless graft and grind of Victorian Britain; stripped of their belongings and identities, the time travellers, now inmates, are put to work.
