What is the plot of X-Men ‘97?

X-Men 97 picks up after the events of X-Men: The Animated Series (1992-1997), battling new threats and confronting new challenges while still reeling from the loss of their leader, Professor X.

Like the original X-Men: The Animated Series, the revival will adapt popular comic book storylines, which will include “Lifedeath” from 1984’s Uncanny X-Men #186. The adaptation of the aforementioned storyline is already confirmed with Marvel revealing the title for each episode.

X-Men ‘97 is created by Beau DeMayo for Disney+ based on comic book characters by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. It marks the first time that Marvel Studios spearheads an X-Men project since regaining movie and TV rights to the characters from 20th Century Fox, as a result of Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.
