Doctor Who Season 14: TV release date and where to watch in Australia

Doctor Who is BBC’s all-time favourite science fiction series since 1963. The longest-running sci-fi television show in the world with the classic collection running until 1989, it was revived in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston playing the Ninth Doctor.

It follows the space and time adventures of a Time Lord, a human-like extra-terrestrial being called the Doctor. Where to watch Doctor Who Season 14 in Australia?

Doctor Who Season 14 release date

Doctor Who Season 14 will premiere with two episodes on Saturday, May 11, at 10:00 am AEST on Disney+ in Australia. After that, the eight-episode new season will roll out weekly until its finale on June 22.

This iconic UK sci-fi adventure has also been confirmed to return for season 15 in 2025 with the present main cast expecting to reprise their characters.

What is the plot of Doctor Who Season 14?

Doctor Who is one of the best British sci-fi programs broadcast by the BBC. Airing since 1963, it follows the adventures of a rogue Time Lord with unknown origins who goes by the name of “The Doctor”.

The Doctor is an alien adventurer who escaped from his home planet Gallifrey in a stolen TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimension in Space). A time-travelling space ship, it takes on the appearance of local objects as a disguise. Due to a malfunction, Doctor’s TARDIS remains fixed as a blue British police box.

To celebrate Doctor Who‘s 60th anniversary, the BBC brought three special episodes with David Tennant returning as the Fourteenth Doctor. Her companion Donna Noble also joined him in a series of cosmic adventures as they navigate worlds previously unknown to us through space and time.

In Doctor Who Season 14, The Fifteenth Doctor (Gatwa) returns with his companion Ruby Sunday, played by (Millie Gibson). Together, they embark on incredible adventures crossing time and space courtesy of TARDIS.

Thrown into multiple timelines, some of which include the Regency era for Bridgerton-inspired adventures, the duo will need to confront wicked foes from the past and “war-torn futures”, forging new allies, and creating friendships along the way.

Cast of Doctor Who Season 14
