Morris Chestnut is Dr. John Watson in the new Watson TV series from CBS Studios.
Based on Arthur Conan Doyle’s character from his Sherlock Holmes’ stories, Chestnut plays the titular character in this new “medical drama with detective elements”. It’s set a year after Sherlock’s death at the hands of Moriarty, with Watson moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to start anew.
In addition to Chestnut, best known for his TV roles in Goliath and The Resident, Watson also stars Peter Mark Kendall (Strange Angel), Ritchie Coster (Tulsa King), Rochelle Aytes (S.W.A.T.), and Inga Schlingmann (So Help Me Todd). Find out where to watch every Watson episode using this guide.

Watson will be streaming in Australia from Monday, 27 January with new episodes weekly, exclusively on Paramount Plus. CBS has yet to confirm how many episodes Watson Season 1 will have.

Following the death of the titular character’s friend and partner Sherlock Holmes, John Watson resumes his medical career treating rare disorders at a clinic dedicated to curing such cases, Holmes Clinic.
While his detective days are over, solving medical mysteries brings him back to his past life. After evidence suggests that Moriarty is still alive, he’s set to write his own chapter as he faces Sherlock’s biggest nemesis, only now without Sherlock by his side.
Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories have fascinated audiences for more than a century, continuing as several stories are adapted for film and television. Watson is CBS’ second adaptation of Holmes stories after Elementary starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu.
Watson is created by Craig Sweeny, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Chestnut, Sallie Patrick, Larry Teng, Shäron Moalem, Aaron Kaplan, and Brian Morewitz.
