The White Lotus Season 2 is now available so get ready to check in to White Lotus: Sicily for a luxurious vacay (and darker turn of events). The first season of The White Lotus used a Hawaiian backdrop for a social satire about the rich and privileged with all events unfolding at the fictional White Lotus resort.
The second season, meanwhile, decides to continue what season 1 has started in Sicily. Teasing its fans with a mysterious plot and a new cast, here we provide everything you need to know regarding the latest instalment of the acclaimed HBO series.
What’s in this Guide?
The White Lotus Season 2 plot
As mentioned, there’s not much information as to what the new season will be about, save for the obvious: the story will follow a new group of privileged travellers as they check in to a White Lotus property for some vacation they’ll never forget (just watch the first one). The upcoming season will also be called The White Lotus: Sicily.
Moreover, HBO announced the new cast of the show which, fortunately, still includes Jennifer Coolidge, who reprises her role from The White Lotus: Hawaii. Series creator Mike White has yet to confirm the return of other characters from the first season, although he did say that it’s unlikely for all the same characters from Season 1 to be on the same vacation the second time around.
Actors joining The White Lotus Season 2 include F. Murray Abraham (Homeland), Haley Lu Richardson (Split), Theo James (Divergent films), and Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation), just to name a few.
The White Lotus Season 1 recap
The White Lotus Season 1 takes place over the span of a week in an exclusive tropical resort in Hawaii. The resort hosts some of the most picture-perfect guests one can imagine. They all hope to unwind and rejuvenate during their stay.
The staff and employees hope to provide the most sophisticated services to its esteemed various guests. The sunny disposition turns a shade darker, however, as they spend more time together. Apart from its intriguing premise, another reason to watch the show is its talented cast. Our very own Murray Bartlett leads the line.
The rest of the ensemble cast includes Connie Britton (Nashville), Jennifer Coolidge (2 Broke Girls), Alexandra Daddario (True Detective), Fred Hechinger (Eighth Grade), Jake Lacy (Girls), Brittany O’Grady (Little Voice), Natasha Rothwell (Insecure) and Steve Zahn (Treme).
