Where will The Wild Robot be streaming in Australia?

With Universal Pictures distributing, we can expect for the film to land on BINGE, Foxtel, and Foxtel Now after its theatrical run. It’s supposed to follow in the footsteps of other latest Universal releases like The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Oppenheimer, and Fast X streaming on the aforementioned platforms.

It is, however, worth noting that new movies are released digitally via pay per view (e.g., Apple TV, Google Play, Fetch, Prime Video Store, and Microsoft) first prior to arriving on subscription streaming.

What is The Wild Robot about?

When a cargo ship runs aground on an island, a robot named Roz survives and is immediately introduced to the harsh environments of the wild. Following an accident, the robot becomes the guardian of an orphaned gosling, Brightbill.

With a fragile creature in her care, Roz must adapt to her new surroundings not only for her own survival, but also for the survival of the baby goose.

Discovering new things and unveiling emotions that are beyond her programming, Roz forms a deep bond with Brightbill, as well as friendship with the animals on the island she now considers her home.

But when Brightbill learns the truth about Roz’s role in the destruction of his nest, he grows to resent her and decides to leave. Roz’s manufacturer also learns of her survival, asking her to come back. Refusal means dangerous consequences for Roz and every animal on the island.

Based on Peter Brown’s award-winning book series of the same name, the film is written and directed by Chris Sanders and produced by DreamWorks Animation.
