What is the plot of Swift Street?
This new thrilling crime drama from SBS follows Elsie (Crawford), a street smart 21-year-old who learns that her hustler father Robert (Curtis) owes a crime boss a whopping $26,000. With his life in danger, Elsie begrudgingly decides to help her father get the money he needs to settle his debts.
Desperate and with no legal options available to them, the unlikely partners in crime find themselves doing exactly that, crimes that is, all while navigating their complex father-daughter relationship. Surprisingly, despite being preoccupied with their criminal ventures, Robert and Elsie find their way back somehow.
Elsie is not only busy trying to improve her relationship with her father, she’s also caught in some sort of drama with a new potential romance and her high school sweetheart Tatenda (Alfred Chuol). Loyalties will be tested as well, confronted with a surprising revelation about her new friend Tom (Keiynan Lonsdale).
Swift Street was created by Tig Terera (Tinashé, Banksia), which she also directed alongside Nicholas Verso. Lois Randall from Magpie Pictures executive produced the series.
