The Acolyte, a brand new Star Wars prequel series, deviates from the typical Star Wars tales.
The expanding Star Wars franchise is evident this year with the recent releases of Star Wars: Tales of the Empire, the final season Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and the new Star Wars: The Acolyte.
Set at the end of the High Republic era, a time of relative peace and the Jedi’s golden age, it will revolve around a series of crimes against the Jedi and the resulting investigation.
When the killings pit a former Padawan against her Jedi Master, it is discovered that the gruesome murders are perpetrated by forces more sinister than they ever anticipated.

What is Star Wars: The Acolyte about?
The events in The Acolyte will take place just before the events of the main Star Wars movies, with a rising darkness emerging at the end of the High Republic era.
Following a crime spree seemingly targeting the Jedi, a gruelling investigation is initiated. The Acolyte will revolve around the Jedi Order’s search for answers and the sinister forces at play.
The resulting enquiry as to the origin of the crimes and the culprit only forces a reputable Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) to confront his former Padawan, now a dangerous warrior.
As their bitter reunion ensues, the truth finally unravels – the crimes against the Jedi are just the beginning of the darkness that will plague both the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order.
The Acolyte is created by Leslye Headland, who also directed the first two episodes. Headland executive produced the show with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jason Micallef, and Jeff F. King.
