What is Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV about?
The tell-all documentary examines the accusations against Nickelodeon television producer Dan Schneider. From 1994, he produced a string of successful children’s shows on the network, including All That, The Amanda Show, Zoey 101, and iCarly.
Featuring interviews with some of the cast and crew members who had worked with Schneider, the series exposes the showrunner’s toxic workplace behaviour at Nickelodeon. In the wake of the “MeToo movement”, accusations of sexual misconduct and gender discrimination were reported.
Quiet on Set also makes a shocking revelation when Drake & Josh star Drake Bell was revealed to be the victim in Brian Peck’s child abuse case. Peck was a dialogue coach at Nickelodeon who was arrested and charged for child sexual abuse in 2003. Peck also worked with Schneider as an acting and dialogue coach on All That and The Amanda Show.
The true crime series was directed by Mary Robertson and Emma Schwartz. Robertson also executive produced the documentary alongside Aaron Saidman, Eli Holzman, Nicholas Carlson, Joel Stonington, Kate Taylor and Pamela Deutsch.
