What is the plot of the Obituary TV series?
Obituary is a comedy thriller that revolves around Elvira Clancy (Siobhán Cullen), an obituary writer in a small town who’s falling on hard times after her newspaper can no longer afford to pay her as a regular employee. Instead, she will have to get paid per obituary she writes.
This is just the beginning of a new life she never imagined having; after inadvertently killing someone deeply unpleasant, she realises she doesn’t mind repeating the deed.
She soon begins murdering more nasty residents in town. Her exploration of her previously untapped bloodlust also means more obituaries to write, which only encourages her to do more killing.
However, the arrival of a new crime reporter means trouble for Elvira, as he begins to investigate the town’s growing string of murders. To make it worse, she sort of falls for him.
Obituary was created by Ray Lawlor with John Hayes and Oonagh Kearney directing episodes. It is produced by Neil Green, while It is executive produced by David Crean, Dermot Horan, Laurent Boissel, and Paddy Hayes all serve as executive producers.
