With the regular season now complete and the 16 teams being determined for qualification, the first round of the 2024 NHL playoffs is set to begin on Sunday, 21 April AEST.
It’s going to be a heated season as all teams vie for the Stanley Cup. Will the Vegas Golden Knights remain as champions, or will a surprise team make a long playoff run and end up hoisting the Cup? On another note, will this be the year the New York Rangers break the Presidents’ Trophy curse?
All questions will be answered as Round 1 kicks-off!
There are four rounds in the Stanley Cup playoffs — first round, second round, conference finals, and finals. In every Playoffs series, the sides will play a best-of-seven, meaning the first team to win four games advances to the next round.

How to watch free replays of NHL Playoffs 2024
Due to the time difference, fans may not be able to watch some NHL games live on their scheduled times. Fortunately, you have access to replays when you have a Foxtel Now or Kayo Sports subscription. On-demand replays are usually available shortly after airing. Note that some of the replays are selected games only.
If you’re pressed for time, Kayo offers Kayo Minis, which consist of compact replays usually lasting 30 minutes. This platform also has a unique “No Spoilers” mode, blocking all reports of final scores so you can watch the replay with anticipation as if it’s live.
On the other hand, Foxtel Minis is Foxtel’s equivalent to Kayo Minis. It offers the same compressed replays of the game, lasting 30 minutes at most. If you’re out and about, check out the Foxtel Go app, included in your Foxtel subscription, to watch matches on the go.
