What is Mr. Throwback about?
Mr. Throwback follows Danny Grossman (Adam Pally), a former sixth-grade basketball superstar whose potential sports career ended after it was revealed that he was in fact 15 while playing, not 12.
Decades later, Danny finds himself at the end of his rope — his marriage failed and his business, Mr. Throwback, is nearing bankruptcy. With nowhere to run and no one to turn to, Danny decides to reunite with his sixth grade basketball teammate, NBA legend Stephen Curry.
Sympathising with an old friend, Curry suggests to the documentary team chronicling his life to follow and chronicle Danny’s life instead. Danny, however, has another intention the audience has yet to find out.
The mockumentary comedy is created by writers and executive producers David Caspe (creator of Happy Endings), Matthew Libman, and Daniel Libman. Stephen Curry also serves as an executive producer.
