The PGA Championship is one of golf’s four majors and was originally founded back in 1916. This year’s edition takes place at the Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco and is in the unique position of being the second major of 2020. The 2021 PGA Championship Preview
The upcoming PGA Championship will be the 102nd edition of golf’s third oldest major. Some of the biggest names in the sport have tasted victory here over the years, but more recently it has been a happy hunting ground for American’s. Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas and Jimmy Walker have put their names on the trophy since 2016, but with very little golf played in recent months, it is difficult to pinpoint this year’s pre tournament favourites.
When: August 7 – 10, 2020 (AEST)
Where: Harding Park Golf Course, USA
With such a strong field there will be plenty of competition for honours and a share of the $10 million prize money. Among those fancied will be The Masters champion Tiger Woods, who’s looking to win his fifth PGA Championship and 16th overall major. There’s also two time winner Rory McIlroy and Aussie Jason Day, who will want to add to his 2015 win. Adam Scott is currently ninth on the golf rankings and also has the talent to take victory in San Francisco.
