Wild West: Tales from Tiger Town Preview
Viewers will get unprecedented access to the dynamics and key relationships within the club, as well as a front-row seat into game preparation., and the technical aspects of a team vying to push themselves further up the NRL ladder. Because each episode is shot over the course of three or four games, filming for the final episodes will continue after episode one airs on Monday, July 19.
The four-part documentary follows the Wests Tigers’ season thus far as they seek to regroup and come back to the playoffs for the first time since 2011. The first episode of Wild Wests: Tales from Tiger Town centres on Maguire and his transformational leadership as he tries to instil confidence in his team during his third season in command. During matches, the documentary is granted complete access to the coach’s box and locker rooms, where the camera records Maguire motivating his players with inspirational speeches.
According to Fox Sports executive director Steve Crawley, the documentary hasn’t been staged in any way. The cameras were left rolling, and were able to record some of the most raw and private revelations that can be found within a professional at sports club. Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe is also featured in the series. He recognizes that some of the information may be unflattering, but he wanted to give fans a real behind-the-scenes peek at the squad in order to draw them closer to the club.
