In Unwelcome, Londoners Maya and Jamie escape their urban nightmare to experience the tranquility of rural Ireland as they prepare to welcome their first child. Excited to start fresh at their newfound haven, the prospect of a brand new life in the countryside has filled them with hope. But there’s a catch: local folklore states that mysterious creatures living at the end of the garden must get their nightly blood offering, else they’ll turn nasty. Discounting it as a harmless superstition, they go along with it. Only they’re in for a big, big surprise.

Unwelcome movie preview
After a terrifying incident in the city left them traumatised, young couple Maya and Jamie decide to start anew and move to the country after the latter’s aunt passes away, inheriting her house.
All is well as they begin renovating their new home, that is until a heavily pregnant Maya’s relationship with a local family turns sour, putting not only her life but also the life of her unborn child in danger.
As the conflict escalates and Maya’s life is threatened, she receives help from her unlikely “rescuers”. This horrifying incident leads to another equally disturbing truth as they discover malevolent murderous goblins lurking in the ancient wood at the foot of the new garden.
Even worse, the creatures are asking for something in return after saving her life, and saying no appears to be not an option. Will Maya concur or channel her inner warrior self to defend her family?
Directed by Jon Wright, who describes the film as “Gremlins meets Straw Dogs”, Unwelcome finally premieres on streaming TV this month. Find out how to watch online with the information below.
