If you’re on the lookout for more thrilling game shows, the UK’s Tipping Point is a fun addition to television’s long list of quiz programs. Hosted by Ben Shephard, it features four contestants answering general knowledge questions to win counters, which they use on a giant coin pusher arcade-style machine. In the end, only the winner takes home cash, although other players can score non-cash prizes like monthly flower bouquets and weekend trips. Here’s how you can watch the quiz program in Australia.

Tipping Point preview
Tipping Point has been keeping audiences on the edge of their seats since it first premiered in 2012. With host Ben Shephard, this long-running program brings together four players (three players from Season 12) all geared up to test their knowledge and skills. With rounds of general knowledge questions, each player aims to win counters, their best chance to receive the jackpot.
In this game of strategy and chance, the Tipping Point machine is ingeniously designed with two shelves brimming with flat circular counters. The upper shelf extends and retracts, while the bottom shelf remains steadfast. Divided into four distinct drop zones at the rear, each equipped with a pegboard reminiscent of pachinko machines, the machine offers an exhilarating challenge.
As contestants answer questions to acquire counters, they carefully select a drop zone and press their buzzer, releasing one counter at a time into their chosen zone. The ultimate aim is for the counters to land flat on the upper shelf, triggering a cascade effect as it retracts, propelling counters over its front edge. With each counter’s push, a thrilling domino effect occurs, propelling even more counters off the lower shelf and into the coveted “win zone,” where victory awaits.
Throughout the episodes, contestants are eliminated as they battle it out to answer questions while trying to concentrate on the moving platform, pushing their other counters closer to the edge. The tension rises as players watch their counters teetering on the edge, eagerly awaiting the moment they drop and potentially secure a win.
With its exciting gameplay and a chance to end up with a large sum of money, Tipping Point has quickly become a favourite among game show enthusiasts. So tune in and join the thrill as four contestants enter the arena, based on their general knowledge prowess, seeking to claim the top spot. Whether you’re a casual viewer or a die-hard fan, this show is sure to keep you entertained as you watch the contestants’ fate hang in the balance.
