Thirteen Lives movie preview
Thirteen Lives recounts the Thai cave rescue story, which roused intense worldwide public interest. In 2018, a Thai soccer team consisting of twelve boys aged 11-16 and their assistant coach explored the Tham Luang cave after a football practice session. They became trapped after an unforeseen rainstorm flooded the cave, making it impossible to get out. Stranded for days with no way out as the rainstorm and the rising waters forced them deeper into the cave, their only hope for survival was to be extracted from the outside.
Shut in the cave for 18 days, the cave rescue effort expanded into a global operation (5000 people from 17 countries) as rescuers from around the world worked together to save them. More notably, a team of expert divers came together to help, risking their lives in the process. Playing a crucial role in the rescue were British divers John Volanthen (played by Colin Farrell) and Richard Stanton (played by Viggo Mortensen). With the entire world watching, rescuers engaged in the most challenging dive of their lives despite the impossibly high stakes.
