How to watch The Suicide Squad in Australia

The Suicide Squad, a not-so-ordinary superhero tale, is dropping on streaming TV in Australia soon. The film follows a super shady task force composed of members who aren’t really into heroic efforts and pep talks. But despite their impulse for instigating mayhem, they’re still required to pitch in for world peace in exchange for shorter prison sentences. Because with these guys, there’s a catch for every good deed.

A standalone sequel to 2016’s Suicide Squad, it is directed by James Gunn and some of the main cast from the previous movie return to reprise their roles. Considered as one of the best DC movies ever made, find out how to watch The Suicide Squad via streaming in Australia using this guide here.

What’s in this Guide?

The Suicide Squad movie preview

In The Suicide Squad, supervillains and a group of other convicted criminals serving time at Belle Reve prison join Task Force X to fulfill an important mission. While they usually don’t care about the plight of the world, the promise of a reduced sentence is too appealing to ignore. A massive-scale chaos then immediately ensues after they’re dropped off at an enemy infused island, Corto Maltese.

One ambush after another, the surviving team consisting of Harley Quinn, Colonel Rick Flag, Bloodsport, Peacemaker, King Shark, Polka-Dot Man, and Ratcatcher 2 trek through the perilous jungle on the island, resolved to finish what they’ve started.

The team is tasked with destroying a laboratory that houses a secret experiment. It is, however, made complicated by the Corto Maltese government and its new dictator, Silvio Luna, who also wants the secret experiment to fuel his sinister plans. As one would expect, bad guys are suckers for anything tagged as a ‘secret project’.

It only gets brutal when a shocking truth reveals itself, throwing the Suicide Squad team off and forcing them to pick a side. This naturally causes a rollercoaster of events that make The Suicide Squad even more charming in its irreverent, violent, and outrageous kind of way.

The Suicide Squad received rave reviews when it premiered with viewers and critics alike finding the sequel way better than its predecessor. It also became the most-streamed DC movie on HBO Max.
