The Horror of Dolores Roach is a new show based on the hit Spotify podcast series of its namesake. From Blumhouse, producers of smash hit horror films like M3GAN and Get Out, the Sweeney Todd-inspired series is made indulgent with a dash of wickedness and a sprinkle of cannibalism-fuelled horror and dark humour. It follows newly-released-from-prison Dolores Roach (Justina Machado), who, after 16 years, returns to her home of Washington Heights, now gentrified and with no familiar traces of her old life.

The Horror of Dolores Roach TV series preview
This new series delves into the macabre urban legend of the indomitable Dolores Roach, taking place in a New York City neighborhood and revolves around Roach. Following her unjust 16-year prison sentence, she finds herself in a place where the tides of gentrification have swept away the familiar landmarks of her past.
With her boyfriend missing and her family long gone, Dolores reunites with her old stoner friend, Luis (Alejandro Hernandez). While mostly still stoned, he helps her start anew by letting her use the basement apartment of his empanada shop for her “Magic Hands” massage business. But when the promise of her newfound stability is quickly threatened, “Magic Hands” Dolores is pushed to shocking extremes to survive.
