The Great Pottery Throw Down Season 6 is now streaming in Australia, showcasing the talents of the twelve home potters all around the UK. From the creators at Love Productions, the very same ones behind The Great British Bake Off, the pottery competition series fosters comfort viewing while in awe of all the pottery marvels one rarely sees on TV.

This season, competing potters from around the country head to Stoke-on-Trent in their quest to become the Top Potter. With all the challenges they need to undergo to prove their pottery skills and ingenuity, only one gets the coveted Top Potter title.

You can find out who that will be as the unscripted HBO Max original series returns for a sixth season. Here’s how you can watch the new episodes.

What’s in this Guide?

The Great Pottery Throw Down preview

The Great Pottery Throw Down is a British series that’s similarly styled and structured as that of The Great British Bake Off and The Great British Sewing Bee, but with pottery. It follows a group of potters engaging in various weekly challenges, from creating garden totem sculpture, building a tea seat, sculpting their own nude Greek statue, fruit bowls, garden gnomes, and creating a naked raku.

Unlike several reality shows, which are both challenge and prize-based, there is no grand prize in The Great Pottery Throw Down. For the potters, the satisfaction from winning and the significant boost in self-esteem is prize enough. With no cash involved, the program is one of those low-stakes entertainment that’s just fun and easy to watch.

Moreover, Season 6 features the return of Siobhán McSweeney as host in the battle of the clay – an engagingly comforting competition in which 12 of Britain’s best home potters compete to become the top clay master. Rich Miller and Keith Brymer Jones will also be returning as judges.
