The 2022 reboot of the Batman movie franchise starring Robert Pattinson finally drops on streaming TV in December. Unlike previous Batman films, the latest one from director Matt Reeves (Planet of the Apes films) explores the titular character’s detective side as he uncovers a massive trail of corruption that leaves Gotham City a much more darkened world. The Batman also continues to fight crimes head on, specifically pursuing the Riddler, a serial killer hell-bent on targeting Gotham’s elite.

The Batman preview
When a serial killer goes on a murderous rampage, leaving a trail of ominous clues and riddles, Bruce Wayne’s vigilante alter ego, Batman, ventures into Gotham City’s underworld in his search of truth and justice. However, every evidence he uncovers ends up exposing more secrets, threatening to erase any hope left for the city that’s already plagued with crimes and corruption.
Resolved to rid the city of crimes and inspire hope, Gotham’s caped crusader forge new relationships in Lieutenant James Gordon and Selina Kyle to unmask the culprit and finally put a stop to the city’s long history of corruption and the abuse of power that causes it.
The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves, who also co-wrote and co-produced the film. Ben Affleck was originally set to direct, write, produce, and return as the lead star but dropped out in 2017. Both a commercial and a critical success, the Robert Pattinson-starrer Batman movie became the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2022.
