Superstore Preview
Superstore is a comedy workplace series about a one-of-a-kind family of Cloud 9 employees. Jonah (Ben Feldman) is the manager, a dedicated optimist who is always on the lookout for his coworkers. These include the wonderfully sarcastic Garrett (Colton Dunn), the fun-loving Cheyenne (Nichole Sakura) and Sandra (Kaliko Kauahi), who can’t seem to stop getting fired! Glenn (Mark McKinney) is back in charge of the restaurant, a character constantly at war pushy assistant manager Dina (Lauren Ash). But he always finds help in the shape of Mateo (Nico Santos), who believes he would be in charge by now if it weren’t for his illegal status!
Cloud 9 sells standard American hypermarket items, as well as pharmaceuticals, alcohol, firearms and booze. A stereotype of America if ever there was one. Also, Daniel Hertzler (aka Kyle the Cloud 9 Cloud) was the company’s spokesperson until he was caught and accused of cannibalism!
From the cheery newbies and seasoned veterans to seasonal workers and management, the employees continue to face the daily challenges of bargain hunters and riot-inducing sales, as well as the many challenges confronting America’s working class today. It’s a unique spin on modern America that doesn’t pretend to take itself too seriously.
