Taking place in the fantasy world of Avalonia, which is surrounded by impenetrable mountains on all sides, Strange World follows Searcher Clade (Jake Gyllenhaal), son of legendary explorer Jaeger Clade (Dennis Quaid), who vanished while exploring the wilderness 25 years ago.
After being enlisted to join an expedition team led by Avalonia’s president, Callisto Mal (Lucy Liu), to explore the mysterious land below their world and find out why their energy source is losing its power, Searcher is reunited with his long-lost father, who has been living underground all those years.
Once again, the father and son tandem, together with Searcher’s family, wife Meridian Clade (Gabrielle Union), son Ethan (Jaboukie Young-White), and their dog Legend, discovers mystical places filled with surprises and the shocking truth about the world they’ve been living in.
