The world’s favourite blue hedgehog returns with the 2022 sequel, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which only means two things: action-packed adventures and the funniest dialogues! It follows Sonic after he settles in Green Hills, intent on proving that he’s more than capable of becoming a hero despite others telling him that he’s, well, terrible at saving the world. With Dr. Robotnik back to wreak more havoc, Sonic teams up with his own sidekick to stop the evil scientist, although it’s also worth mentioning that he really doesn’t have a plan.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 preview
Set nine months after the events of the first film, Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) escapes the mushroom planet with the help of his new new partner, Knuckles (Idris Elba). After learning about a mystical emerald, the source of ultimate power that can destroy civilizations, the villainous scientist becomes resolved to find it and use it for his extra wicked plans.
Arriving on Earth to warn Sonic (Ben Schwartz) about Knuckles is Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey). Together, they team up and embark on a globe-trotting journey to make sure that the Master Emerald doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. Helping them save the world is Tom Wachowski (James Marsden), Green Hills’ sheriff and Sonic’s best friend/father figure.
Jeff Fowler, who directed the first film, returns to direct the second Sonic movie. Pat Casey and Josh Miller also return as writers, as well as the original main cast Ben Schwartz, Jim Carrey, and James Marsden. The 2022 sequel fared better than its predecessor, garnering praise for its action sequences, animated characters, visuals, and irresistible humour.
