See How They Run movie preview
Set in the West End of 1950’s London, The Mousetrap, Agatha Christie’s smash hit play, just celebrated its 100th performance. Its success resulted in the play getting a movie version, to which American director Leo Köpernick (Adrien Brody) is supposed to direct, that is until someone murders him.
Heading the investigation is Inspector Stoppard, alongside the inexperienced but eager Constable Stalker, played by Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan. While the young constable displays an admirable enthusiasm, her penchant for jumping to conclusions makes her an unlikely partner. Of course, she’ll have an impressive breakthrough at some point.
As everyone is considered a suspect, the theatre is closed for further investigation and any activities related to the movie adaptation come to an abrupt halt. Ultimately, they realise that not only are they suspects, they’re also potential victims with the killer still on the loose.
Getting closer to the truth, which, in a puzzling whodunit, is a gratifying experience, Stoppard and Stalker must continue to investigate the mysterious homicide at their own peril. Moreover, as they delve into the circumstances of the crime, examining all the suspects and all possible scenarios, they find themselves entangled in a baffling case within the glamorously sordid theatre underground.
