Australia’s original music trivia quiz show, RocKwiz, is returning to your screens in February with Foxtel reviving the program after a six-year hiatus. Host Julia Zemiro, adjudicator and comedian Brian Nankervis, and roadie Dugald McAndrew are all set to return, retaining RocKwiz’s pure entertainment appeal that made it a beloved show for more than a decade. Even more exciting for fans, the latest instalment kickstarts with a fresh set and a new-look RocKwiz Orkestra.
What’s in this Guide?
RocKwiz preview
In late 2022, it was reported that Foxtel is bringing back RocKwiz to Australian television. The popular show ended back in 2016 after its fourteenth season although the live touring shows (RocKwiz Live) continued. This year, however, marks a new era for the long-running series following the announcement that RocKwiz will air on Foxtel. The show had its 14-season run on SBS.
With the premiere just around the corner, Foxtel has also confirmed that the new RocKwiz will feature an exceptional line-up of new and established and musical guests, combining headline acts and emerging artists.
After six years off screen, the creative team behind RocKwiz will once again bring a mix of trivia, comedy, and live music. As it’s been awhile since the last episode aired on television, fans can expect some notable changes when the show returns, such as a new RocKwiz Orkestra, a fresh-look set, and a shorter 30-minute running time shot in front of a live studio audience.
Following its standard format, every episode will see music genius contestants and two surprise musical guests, each performing a solo before concluding the episode in a duet. This particular element of the show is how Australia discovered fresh musical talent through RocKwiz.

It has been confirmed that the much-loved program will return to television on Friday, 24 February 2023 at 7.30 pm on Foxtel’s FOX8 channel.
