Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek Pinault reprise their roles as Puss in Boots and Kitty Softpaws in the blockbuster sequel Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. More than a decade after the first film premiered, The Last Wish is set after the events of Shrek Forever After when the swashbuckling hero cat teams up with Kitty and Perrito (Harvey Guillén) in search of the mystical Last Wish.
While Puss in Boots is no stranger to out of this world adventures, finding the Last Wish would be the most important of them all, as it’s deemed the only way for him to reclaim his lost lives.
What’s in this Guide?
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish plot
A new adventure in the Shrek universe awaits you when fierce outlaw Puss in Boots discovers that his days are bound to get shorter. As he embarks on wild adventures and faces dangers with no regard for his safety, he unknowingly spends nearly all his nine lives, surprised at the fact that his time is about to run out.
Down to his last life after mindlessly using up his first eight lifting weights, insisting he be made a cannonball, awakening a sleeping giant, and many more outrageous disasters, the daring outlaw Puss in Boots must now act with more prudence. But since his penchant for adventures prevent him from being cautious, he figures finding the elusive Last Wish to restore his nine lives is a much better option.
Together with the captivating Kitty Soft Paws and the optimistic dog Perrito, the trio sets out on an epic journey to locate the Last Wish. But there’s tough competition as Goldilocks (Florence Pugh) and her Three Bears crime family are also in search of the mythical wishing star. With his only one life left, their journey is also made more difficult with terrifying bounty hunter The Big Bad Wolf (Wagner Moura) always one step ahead of them.
In addition to Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek Pinault, and Harvey Guillén, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish also stars Florence Pugh, Olivia Colman, Ray Winstone, Samson Kayo, and John Mulaney. It is directed by Joel Crawford from a screenplay written by Paul Fisher and Tommy Swerdlow.
