Operation Mincemeat movie preview

The film is set in 1943, in a period of intense turmoil in Europe. World War II is well underway and the British government is looking for ways to turn the tide in their favour. As a promise to the US government, Winston Churchill (Simon Russell Beale) stated they will invade Sicily by midway through the year, in an attempt to attack Germany from the south. But Sicily is considered too obvious a target, so the British have to convince the enemies that they will instead invade Greece.

Ewen Montagu (Colin Firth), a Jewish lawyer, is appointed to the Twenty Committee which oversees counter-intelligence operations for Britain during wartime. There, he and fellow secret agents Charles Cholmondeley (Matthew Macfayden) and Ian Fleming (Johnny Flynn) devise Operation Mincemeat, a plan to plant fake evidence on a corpse and have it wash ashore on a Spanish beach; the false evidence ends up in Nazi hands.

Colin Firth, Kelly Macdonald, and Matthew Macfadyen are among just a few members of the highly praised cast that give standout performances during the film. Follow all the intense action as the allied forces trying to pull off one of the most daring missions in history and win the war. Gripping, powerful, and poignant, this film inspired by real-world events is not to be missed!
