National Treasure fans will be pleased to know that the adventure-filled National Treasure movies continue with the new TV series, National Treasure: Edge of History. With this, the National Treasure franchise is brought back to life, breaking new ground with a new cast and some familiar faces.
First led by Nicolas Cage in the movies, the upcoming series will be headlined by Lisette Alexis as the lead character Jess Valenzuela. Her knack for solving puzzles and her love of adventures will lead her right in the centre of a mystery involving a lost Pan-American treasure. National Treasure: Edge of History preview
The National Treasure series follows a group of young treasure hunters led by Jess Valenzuela. Entangled in a mystery, she learns that there are secrets connecting her family to a hidden treasure and finding this treasure herself will finally uncover the truth about her parents. As their investigation progresses, digging up the past and finding more clues, a crucial part of American history unravels.
Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of the National Treasure films, remains to be involved in the series, alongside writers Cormac and Marianne Wibberley who serve as the show’s creators. Jon Turteltaub, the director of the National Treasure films, is also an executive producer.
Justin Bartha, who played Riley Poole in the films, is also set to appear in the series. As for Nicolas Cage’s character, Benjamin Franklin Gates, there’s no word on his possible involvement. However, when the National Treasure was confirmed, it was reported that Jerry Bruckheimer mentioned the possibility of a third movie.

The National Treasure series will have a double-episode premiere on Disney Plus on 14th December 2022. Consisting of 10 episodes, the subsequent episodes will stream weekly on the streaming service.
