The docuseries follows Australia’s treasured national women’s team, featuring players as they embark on the incredible experience of playing their first World Cup on home soil. As the team represents Australian women’s sports across the globe and inspires future generations of athletes to pursue their dreams, we’re taken on a remarkable journey of teamwork, resilience, determination, and the tenacity to rise above all their hardships.
Told across six episodes, Matildas The World at Our Feet showcases the players as they confront their greatest challenge yet – the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 right here. With the weight of Australia’s national colours on their jerseys, the Matildas will show everyone rooting for them what they’re truly made of.
Directed by Katie Bender Wynn (The Will To Fly), the Australian-produced documentary series is a collaboration between Football Australia and Disney Plus. It is produced by Barking Mad Productions and Station 10 Media in a joint venture with Fremantle and Boardwalk Pictures. Steve Bibb, Christopher G Cowen, and David Briegel-Jones also serve as executive producers for the upcoming show.
