Swedish actors Sofia Helin, Anja Lundqvist, Julia Dufvenius and Elin Klinga headline the new comedy – Lust – as four middle-aged women struggling with their own sex lives. Navigating the subject of female sexuality with middle-aged lead characters, Lust delivers humour without straying away from the poignancy of its narrative, which also touches other serious topics like sexual harassment and marriage counseling.
Because most assume that you have it all figured out at age 40, Lust says otherwise by exploring the less examined world of womanhood over 40 and the personal identity struggles that come with it. Now available in Australia, find out how to watch episodes using this guide.

Lust TV series preview
The new Swedish comedy series follows four middle-aged friends and their never-ending struggle to navigate work, marriage, and deal with the conundrums of life, leading for their sex lives to take a back seat. With their stifled sexuality come their erotic misadventures that are both hilarious and also easily relatable – although living under the same roof with one’s ex and his new girlfriend isn’t something you come across with everyday.
It all begins when public health researcher Anette (Sofia Helin) asks women in their mid-40s about their sex lives for a government study called “Sex Is a Highway to Health”. Incorporating this into her life, she and the women closest to her also start questioning their own sexual experiences, realising that it’s extremely lacking. All of a sudden, they become conscious of the fact that their bedroom stories have plateaued and their sexual escapades are now a thing of the past.
Clearly aware that the sexual part of their lives have been replaced by the mundane realities of Thursday sex, professional pursuits, marriage, parenthood and divorce, they all embark on a new journey to rediscover themselves, explore what makes them feel alive, and unlock their desires again even in their later life. Lust is also co-created by actors Julia Dufvenius, Sofia Helin and Åsa Kalmér. It is produced by Sandra Harms and Karl Fredrik Ulfung at Miso Film Sverige AB, with Christian Wikander and Camilla Curtis as executive producers.
