After a brief stint from 2005 to 2006, Love Island was revived in 2015 and has since become wildly successful on British television. Three years after its premiere, it became ITV2’s most-watched show in the network’s history. Ten seasons in and the celebrity dating series continues to reel in audiences, becoming a smash hit in other territories. The success of the show has also paved the way for the creation of Love Island USA and Love Island Australia, currently comprising the global Love Island franchise.

Love Island follows a group of singles called “islanders” living together in a luxury villa, hoping to find love and experience the best summer of their lives. Isolated from the outside world, contestants bond over their shared desire to finally find the one, all the while navigating friendships and their respective romances. For those who missed the previous winter Love Island instalment at the beginning of 2023, Kai and Sanam took the grand prize of £50,000 and were named the ultimate couple.
