How I Met Your Father Season 2 preview
Created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, the sitcom follows Hilary Duff’s character Sophie as she earnestly finds love, or at least attempts to find one. The challenges of dating apps has her frustrated about her dull love life that only seems to get more pointless as days go by.
But just like the original series, we know that she’ll eventually find someone, because in the near future Sophie tells her son how she met the love of her life.
In Season 2, Sophie is back in the dating scene again after ruining her chances with Jesse, who we saw reunited with his ex-girlfriend Meredith. Valentina and Charlie also broke up but it doesn’t seem final as they continue their vague romance in the second season.
Meanwhile, Ellen finally landed a job so it’ll be interesting to see how that’ll go. It’s also been revealed that Sid and Ashley got married, which means more screen time for the new married couple.
After How I Met Your Mother had aired for nine seasons and ended in 2014, creators Carter Bay and Craig Thomas teamed up with writer Emily Spivey to create the continuing series How I Met Your Dad, which starred Greta Gerwig as the main character. It didn’t move forward, until 2021 when the pilot for How I Met Your Dad was rewritten and became the now-airing spin-off How I Met Your Father.
How I Met You Father lead star Hilary Duff also serves as a producer. Aside from the main cast comprising the close knit group, Josh Peck (Drake & Josh) and Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) also join the show as recurring characters, while Daniel Augustin replaces Brandon Micheal Hall to play the part of Ian.
