HBO Max is bringing you a uniquely funny coming of age series with Gordita Chronicles, streaming soon in Australia. This new series follows the journey of a Dominican family who moves from Santo Domingo to Miami to chase their American dream. However, life in America is far from how their imagination paints it to be. And so, the family learns to love harder and stand firmer, finding more opportunities to appreciate one another and carve out a new path in a strange, new world.
A coming-of-age story that centres on a family starting a new life in a new country, ready to take on just about anything to keep their dreams alive, Gordita Chronicles premieres in Australia this June. Here’s how you can watch the new series on streaming TV.

Gordita Chronicles preview
Set in the year 1985, Cucu ‘Gordita’ Castelli is moving away from her friends and family in Santo Domingo to move to Miami with her vivacious mother Adela (Diana Maria Riva), marketing executive father Victor (Juan Javier Cardenas), and suddenly status-obsessed older sister Emilia (Savannah Nicole Ruiz).
Arriving in Miami, they instantly learn that America is far from what they imagined. Eventually, they realise that they have to start from scratch to take charge. Lighthearted and sassy, this refreshing new TV series about Gordita’s coming of age tale is about family, opportunity, love, resilience and boldly defying the status quo in pursuit of the ‘American Dream’.
Desperate Housewives’ Eva Longoria directed the pilot episode and serves as executive producer, alongside Josh Berman of Drop Dead Diva and CSI, as well as Jennifer Robinson and Chris King of Osprey Productions. Actress Zoe Saldana also executive produces for Cinestar Pictures.
