Based on the 2016 short film of the same name, Fired on Mars follows graphic designer Jeff Cooper (played by Luke Wilson). Thrilled at his new life after securing a job on Mars, his entire future is upended when his superiors abruptly eliminate his employment. Jobless and with no other means to return to Earth, Jeff is forced to play the cards he’s dealt, all the while attempting to navigate a new life on the red planet.

Fired on Mars (2023) preview
This irreverent animated comedy series revolves around Luke Wilson’s character, Jeff Cooper, an up-and-coming graphic designer whose life is turned upside down after his bosses unceremoniously eliminate his role. To make it worse, the job he got fired from was on Mars.
With his fulfilling career now out of the picture, combined with his inability to return home, Jeff must adapt to a new life in the sprawling office colony on the red planet if he wants to keep it together. But just like on Earth, it turns out that corporate life on Mars is just as unforgiving.
In addition to Luke Wilson, Fired on Mars also features starring cast members that include Leslie David Baker, Cory Loykasek, Stephen Root, and Cedric Yarbrough. Meanwhile, Pamela Adlon, Thomas Haden Church, Tim Heidecker, Frankie Quinones, Emily Watson, and Sean Wing are set to make guest appearances.
Fired on Mars is created and executive produced by Nate Sherman and Nick Vokey, the original creators of the 2016 short film, with Carson Mell joining them as co-writer. All three also serve as the executive producers, alongside Brian A. Miller.
