What’s in this Guide?
Marvel Studios’ Eternals preview
The superhero epic, spanning thousands of years, follows a group of immortal Super Heroes who have been protecting mankind since the beginning of time from its ancient enemy. After defeating the last Deviants in the 1500s, they’re mostly hiding in plain sight and awaiting orders from their creator, Arishem.
When the Deviant Kro attacks, the Eternals emerge to fulfill their duty, only to find out that their actual mission has been to prepare Earth for the Emergence. The event will usher in a new Celestial being born, but it will also result in Earth’s destruction. With this revelation, the Eternals become conflicted with their true mission and purpose, especially their new leader Sersi, who have come to develop a love for humanity.
Directed by award-winning director Chloé Zhao (Nomadland), Eternals is the 26th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s based on the Marvel Comics race of the same name, created by Jack Kirby. The epic story spans centuries exploring mankind’s place in the universe in a way that’s rarely seen in a superhero film. As such, Eternals proves to be a unique offering that’s different from the rest of the MCU.
