Sky Atlantic’s new series, Dreamland, follows a family of four sisters in a dark comedy that’s meant to explore female relationships from different generations. It stars Gabby Best, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Freema Agyeman, and Lily Allen in her first major television role. Set in the sunny British seaside town of Margate, these four sisters navigate their respective complexities, aspirations, and the secrets they keep from each other.

Dreamland TV series preview
Based on Sharon Horgan’s BAFTA-winning short film Morgana Robinson’s Summer, Dreamland first introduces eldest sister Trish, (Freema Agyeman). She is pregnant for the third time, only this time she’s decided it’s a girl. To help make this happen, two of her sisters, Clare (Gabby Best) and Leila (Aimee-Ffion Edwards), join their mother (Frances Barber) and grandmother (Sheila Reid) to ‘bring forth’ a little girl.
However, the return of their other sister, Mel (Lily Allen), threatens the supposedly smooth-sailing family dynamics. All of a sudden, there’s no more ‘dreamland’ because an unwelcome member of the family makes an unexpected reappearance, disrupting the entire family.
The upcoming seaside comedy for Sky Atlantic is written by Emma Jane Unsworth, Gabby Best, Sharma Walfall and Sarah Kendall, with Ellie Heydon joining the team as the series director. Sharon Horgan also serves as an executive producer alongside Clelia Mountford and Alex Moody (Sky Studios).
