As a medical prodigy in her teens, nothing is ever simple for 16-year-old Lahela “Doogie” Kameāloha. Living and working in Hawaii, she strives to flourish as a young physician with an astounding future ahead of her, all the while attempting to live her life to the fullest as a teenager. As tough as it sounds, she plays the cards she’s dealt with the help of her best friend, Steph, and her older brother, Kai.
A reimagining of the hit medical sitcom Doogie Howser M.D. starring Neil Patrick Harris, Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. was developed by Kourtney Kang (How I Met Your Mother, Fresh Off the Boat) and stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee as the wunderkind teenage doctor. Luckily for fans, the series returns for a second season this month, which you can watch instantly as it hits streaming TV using this guide.

Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. Season 2 preview
In Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.’s Season 1 finale, Walter left for Australia alone to attend a world surf tour while Doogie stayed behind for her medical residency. After spending the summer apart, what Doogie expects as a sweet reunion becomes somewhat laced with doubts and disappointment when Walter returns with someone else. As he’s no longer the same boyfriend she knew so well, she naturally refuses to be the same girl as well.
With the dynamics of their relationship starting to change, the young physician becomes friendlier with charming patient, Nico, who has no qualms in letting his romantic intentions known. Juggling her unconventional teenage life, family, and now her love life with her increasingly demanding career, Doogie’s decision-making skills are going to be stretched to the limit. Fortunately, she has a loving family, supportive friends and colleagues, and a breathtaking tropical backdrop to make things way, way better.
