What’s in this Guide?

Deadliest Catch preview

The icy waters of the Bering Sea, located between Russia and Alaska, are known for their unforgiving nature. With freezing temperatures, towering waves, and fierce storms, the sea poses serious dangers to anyone who ventures into it. But for the fishermen who ply their trade on the Bering Sea, this is their daily reality.

Deadliest Catch is a riveting TV show that offers a glimpse into the life of crab fishermen during the crab fishing seasons. Produced by Original Productions, the show follows the lives of several fishermen as they brave the harsh conditions of the Bering Sea to catch crab.

Each episode is a rollercoaster ride of emotions, as the camera crews capture the thrilling and often dangerous moments on deck. The show not only highlights the dangers of crab fishing, but also delves into the lives of the fishermen.

On Deadliest Catch Season 18, a fleet of seasoned captains sets out to brave the treacherous conditions and hunt for the elusive king crab. Sig, Jake, John, and Josh are among those who take on the challenge, each with their own unique strategies and tactics.

Sig, the veteran captain of the Northwestern, sets his sights on the invasive Russian king crab in Norway, deploying a risky tactic that his father had pioneered. But the challenges he faces are not just from the sea. Sig must also contend with a crewman who thinks he knows more than the captain and struggles to launch his Norwegian operation.

Meanwhile, Jake of the Saga mortgages his beloved ship as he battles a slack tank to keep the vessel from sinking. But when Shyanne discovers a serious breach on the Saga, Jake and his crew must scramble to save the ship from capsizing.

Over on the Time Bandit, John chases after the prized golden kings, risking losing his entire live catch when the ship ventures into fresh water. And as the canneries close their doors, Josh and Casey call in a last-minute favour from Johnathan to help tank the Hansen family bairdi quota.

As an Arctic storm slams the fleet already reeling from the closure of King Crab, these seasoned captains are forced to navigate the treacherous waters in pursuit of a new species. Johnathan sets pots deeper than ever before in search of a pot of Golden Kings at the end of a double rainbow, while Josh experiments with glow sticks to attract crabs at the darkest depths.

But the dangers they face are not just from the sea and weather. A deckhand fights for his life on the Patricia Lee after being crushed by pots, and Captain Rip charges into the Arctic storm to attempt one of the riskiest USCG helicopter rescues in recent history.

With his own vessel at risk, Keith partners with Josh and Casey until John steps in, and Captain Wild Bill fights to save his boat from the rocky Norwegian coastline with a line snarled in his propeller. And when Josh’s brother Shane gets caught in the bight as a typhoon slams the Cornelia Marie, the crew must face the deadly storm.

As the stakes grow ever higher and the challenges become increasingly daunting, these captains rely on their experience, skill, and a little bit of luck to survive and thrive in the world’s most dangerous profession.
