Sci-fi space adventures are territories typically dominated by grown ups, but in Disney’s new Crater movie, we’re introduced to a group of teenagers embarking on a space adventure of their own. From the producers of Stranger Things and Arrival, Crater features a solid cast comprising some of the biggest young actors including Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Mckenna Grace, Billy Barratt, Orson Hong, Thomas Boyce, and Scott Mescudi.

Crater movie preview
Part coming of age story and part science fiction, Crater tells the story of Caleb Channing (Isaiah Russell-Bailey) and his friends Dylan (Billy Barratt), Borney (Orson Hong), and Marcus (Thomas Boyce). After the death of his father, Caleb, who grew up on a lunar mining colony, will need to move to an idyllic faraway planet, but not before he gets to explore a mysterious crater, something that his father had always been fascinated about.
Together with his best friends, and a new arrival from Earth, Addison (played by Mckenna Grace), they decide to go on one final adventure, kind of a road trip but in space. With the death of a loved one and the arrival of someone new, Crater possibly explores deeper themes of self-discovery, acceptance, and facing life’s new chapters with newfound hope and growing curiosities of the vast universe.
Crater is directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez from a story developed by John Griffin and Rpin Suwannath. Dan Cohen and Shawn Levy, best known as producers of Stranger Things, also serve as producers for Crater, alongside Dan Levine, acclaimed for his work in the sci-fi drama Arrival.
