One of our most beloved childhood book characters recently graced the big screen with the Clifford the Big Red Dog movie. After a successful theatrical run and an exclusive premiere on Paramount Plus in the US, the adventure comedy finally launched in Australia on select streaming services.
Clifford the Big Red Dog is based on the beloved scholastic book character on Norman Bridwell’s children’s book series of the same name. Streaming now in the country, the movie will bring back that warm fuzzy feeling of childhood amongst grown-ups, while the little ones, well, the lovable story between a girl and a magical dog should do the trick to get them to sit and stay.

Clifford the Big Red Dog movie preview
Clifford the Big Red Dog follows the story of a middle schooler, Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp), who struggles to fit in at home and at school. One day, she discovers a red puppy from a magical animal rescuer named Mr. Bridwell (John Cleese), who then tells her that the puppy’s eventual size depends on how much love he receives.
Emily never anticipated waking up to a massive dog but with her big heart, the young girl’s love has turned the tiny puppy into a giant ten-foot hound inside their New York City apartment the following day.
Clifford’s enormous size soon attracts the attention of Zac Tieran (Tony Hale), CEO of a biotechnology company called Lyfegro, who wishes to grow supersized animals (of course he does). With a greedy corporation on their trail, Emily and her impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) have to fight Lyfegro forces as they go on the run across the Big Apple to save Clifford.
Directed by Walt Becker, the movie combines city adventures, mild crude humour and gigantic fun that the kids and those who just enjoy seeing giant puppies cutely wreaking havoc will love.
