CB Strike fans in Australia will be pleased to know that its latest fifth season, subtitled Troubled Blood, has just dropped on streaming TV. The series itself is based on the novels featuring fictional private detective Cormoran Strike by J.K. Rowling under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.
The crime drama centres on Private Investigator Cormoran Strike (Tom Burke), a war veteran who ventured into the world of sleuthing. With his unique insight and specialised background, he’s become an asset at the Special Investigation Branch. Working alongside his trusted partner Robin Ellacott (Holliday Grainger), they solve complex cases and uncover the mystery behind every crime.

C.B. Strike Season 5 preview
Season 5 sees Strike taking on his first cold case when a woman reaches out to him to help find her mother, Margot Bamborough, who went missing under mysterious circumstances in 1974. While he’s never worked on a cold case, especially one that took place nearly a half a century ago, Strike decided to solve it.
As he and Robin investigate Margot’s disappearance, they realise the case to be more complex and sinister than they expected, entangling them with a psychopathic serial killer and London’s underworld. With their lives at stake, they’re confronted by the truth that even cases decades old can be just as lethal.
