What’s in this Guide?
Bodies Bodies Bodies preview
When a group of friends throw a hurricane party at a remote family mansion, a party game turns lethal in this fresh and funny look at backstabbing, toxic friendships, and how to basically make things worse.
While wildly entertaining, the film also speaks volumes as a satire on privilege, youth culture, and Gen-Z’s inability to function without Wi-Fi and relate to each other without using words like “vibe” and “toxic”.
In its true horror fashion, viewers are still given mystery, strong violence, blood, and gore, all the while poking fun at social media jargons and phrases that Gen Z uses too much and too often.
“You’re gaslighting me,” said a character after being accused of killing, or “Why do you always make it about you?”, after one shoots another, are just some of the ruthlessly funny scenes to have graced the screen.
Directed by Halina Reijn and produced by David Hinojosa and Ali Herting, this black comedy horror about one party gone wrong stars Amandla Stenberg, Maria Bakalova, and Myha’la Herrold. Also appearing in supporting roles are Chase Sui Wonders, Rachel Sennott, Pete Davidson, and Lee Pace.
