What is Big Nate (TV series) about?
This fun animated series is based on the beloved comics of the same name by Lincoln Peirce. It follows the hilarious adventures of Nate Wright, a sixth-grade boy in Jefferson Middle School with his own sense of mischief and a knack for finding trouble wherever he goes.
Nate, along with his loyal friends from school—Francis, Teddy, Chad, and Dee Dee—forms a dynamic crew with their individual personalities and own backstories.
Within the halls of their school, Nate’s nemesis is none other than the strict social studies teacher, Mrs. Godfrey, whom he affectionately refers to as “the school’s Godzilla.”
Watch as Nate’s rebellious nature leads to humorous encounters with Mrs. Godfrey, Principal Nichols, and the wise science teacher, Mr. Galvin. Meanwhile, at home, Nate finds solace with his single father, Martin, and his girly but lovable older sister, Ellen, adding an extra charm to his adventures.
With its amazing comedy and wonderful characters, it’s an ideal series for kids and viewers of all ages. More than fun adventures, the show is also a gold mine of valuable lessons. Through Nate’s escapades, viewers learn about family, friendship and the importance of staying true to oneself.
Fans of the comics will also be delighted to know that the TV adaptation perfectly captures the essence of the Big Nate books and gives a fresh and lively spin to the beloved characters. With the talented voice work of Ben Giroux as Nate, it strikes the perfect balance between comedy and heartfelt moments.
