Filmmaker David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle) returns to the big screen with the 2022 Amsterdam movie. Headlined by Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington, it follows three friends who become entangled in a baffling murder after witnessing the crime themselves.
As if it’s not enough that they’ve been framed, chaos further ensues when they inadvertently uncover one of the most outrageous political schemes in American history. Joining Bale, Robbie, and Washington in the cast are some of the biggest names in movies, including Chris Rock, Anya Taylor-Joy, Zoe Saldaña, Rami Malek, and Robert De Niro. Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift also appears in the film.
Now available on streaming TV in Australia, here’s how you can watch Amsterdam online.

Amsterdam movie preview
Burt Berendsen, Harold Woodsman, and Valerie Voze are close friends who met during World War I and lived together in Amsterdam before ultimately going their separate ways. They reunite fifteen years later, only this time they become the prime suspects of a shocking murder. Working together to clear their names, they instead uncover one of the most shocking secret plots in America’s history.
A crime epic with three strong leads at the centre, Amsterdam is written, directed, and produced by David O. Russell, which is also the director’s first film since 2015’s Joy. Interestingly, Amsterdam’s story is based on the Business Plot, political conspiracy in the US that took place in 1933.
It’s always fun to see a bunch of big stars in one movie. If you’re thinking of giving this one a try, you can easily do so with a couple of streaming options in Australia.
