Two and a half years after it was first announced, the long-awaited Ahsoka series is almost here. First introduced as a 14-year-old Padawan apprentice assigned by Yoda to Anakin Skywalker, the beloved Star Wars character has a remarkable story and adventures of her own that warrants Ahsoka her very own solo series.
Recently making its premiere, here’s what we know about the highly anticipated The Mandalorian spin-off focusing on the beloved Star Wars character Ahsoka Tano.
What’s in this Guide?
Ahsoka series preview
Ahsoka Tano made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian. She went on to make another appearance in The Book of Boba Fett, further signalling the bigger role she’ll play in the Star Wars universe. Prior to her live-action introduction, the character was first introduced in the animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and then continued her battle against evil in Star Wars Rebels even after having left the Jedi Order.
After fans held their breaths during her nail-biting duel with her former master-turned corrupted dark lord Darth Vader, thinking that would be the end of her journey, she somehow cheated death and made her glorious return in the second season of The Mandalorian as a live-action character played by Rosario Dawson.
With Dawson reprising the role of Ahsoka, we can expect that the series will take place some time after the events in The Mandalorian Season 2, and even after her brief appearance in The Book of Boba Fett. Other than fan speculations based on previous appearances, Ahsoka’s main plot is still being kept under wraps.
The return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker may also give fans the much-requested Clone Wars flashbacks, in which the former Jedi apprentice faces her former Jedi master in a painstakingly crafted duel.
Star Wars Rebels creator and executive producer Dave Filoni is Ahsoka’s writer and showrunner, co-producing the series with Jon Favreau and Kathleen Kennedy.
