What is the plot of Gavin & Stacey: The Finale?
The Gavin and Stacey 2019 Christmas Special gave us an electrifying cliffhanger when Nessa confessed her love to Smithy, got down on one knee and everything, and asked him to marry her. There’s also the big revelation when we saw the visibly pregnant Stacey hanging out with her friends in that final shot.
It’s been five years since that so clearly a lot has happened, which we’ll finally see in the show’s return for one final episode in December 2024. In our last wildly hilarious date with the Shipmans and the Wests, we’ll see Stacey and Gavin exploring new ways to make their 17-year marriage exciting. Meanwhile, Nessa ventures on a new business and Neil the Baby is giving it a go as an apprentice.
In Essex, Gavin’s parents Pam and Mick have a lot on their plate too; Pam really wants to be a great host while a newly retired Mick practices his golf swings in the living room. As for Pete and Dawn, well, there’s another crisis looming in for the rambunctious couple. Considering it’s the group’s final hurrah, are we going to finally learn what really happened on that fishing trip?
Gavin and Stacey’s final episode stars Mathew Horne as Gavin Shipman, Joanna Page as Stacey Shipman, Ruth Jones as Nessa Jenkins, James Corden as Neil Smith, Rob Brydon as Bryn West, Alison Steadman as Pam Shipman, Larry Lamb as Mick Shipman, Julia Davis as Dawn Sutcliffe, Adrian Scarborough as Pete Sutcliffe, and David Lloyd Gooch as Dave Coaches.
